Back Pain Care

Taking care of your back is easier than you may think.  sarting by sitting in your chair with healthy posture while setting up your office work space to avoid excessive back and neck strain.

Arrange each pieces of furniture and equipment to accommodate at your most efficiency while making sure your posture is maintained.

Bring your computer's monitor to eye-level. A sliding tilted keyboard attachment may help your typing less stressful. Do not allow any unnecessary pain other than the work itself!  To practice back care, here is the check list:

#1 workstation

Make sure your desk has suitable height for you and is large enough for writing and other tasks besides computer.  Do not over-reach to do your work while the workstation is too "large" because it will strain your spine while you try to move around.

#2 quality ergonomic office chairs

To help reduce fatigue and discomfort for your back, it is important to stay active even when you are sitting.   A hot/cold gel pack couple with massaing lumbar support will increase your blood flow that promotes nutrients for your back.  Lumbar support will also reduce the risk of injury to your neck and spine. It is not recommanded to order "ergonomic office chairs" by simply looking at them.  You have to "test drive" them beforehand in some store.  But, to get the best value of your money, it is smart to order them on the internet after test drive.  A quality office chair should have good backrest that provides sufficient lumbar support. It should recline for the best comfort of your spine.  The office chair allows your feet to be flat on the floor while sitting in it.  It is best to be able to rotate or swivel to provide easy movement from task to task.

#3 Posture

You need to sit correctly with healthy posture.  Because your back will suffer the consequency wether with ergonomic office chair or without.   To avoid back pain, make sure your back and shoulders are supported against the back of the chair.  Do not slouch for it strains your disk in your spine. Never hold your phone between your head and shoulder.  Use a hands-free headset to prevent neck and shoulder pain. Rest your arms lightly on the armrests.  Inactive sitting will create circulatory problems or nerve pressure.  To have active sitting is to take little breaks for every 30 minutes of sitting or to use massage office chairs instead.  Avoid leaning against your armrest sideway.  Always keep your feet flat on the floor.  Crossing your legs is not good posture.  Relax your back, neck, head, and shoulders while keyboarding.
