You just purchase your office chairs and there are different ways on how to care for your "hard-earned" office chairs. Here are our suggections.
For Fabric Upholstery Use vacuum cleaner to clean the fabric upholstery office chairs. Don't use any revolving brush. The revolving brush may damage the fabric. Avoid using water or liquid solutions on the fabric because they may damage the fabric or the color. For tougher spots or stains, it is recommended to contact the chair manufacturer for details on what solvents to use on their fabric.
For Leather Upholstery Make sure to clean the entire leather surface to promote uniformity. It is important to air dry leather as soon as possible to prevent cracking or discorloring on the leather. For regular upkeeping, just dust with a dry and soft cloth. For Mesh Upholstery Mesh is easier to clean compare to leather. It can be cleaned with a vacuum. Do not use rolling or moving parts of the vacuum because these types of attachments may damage the mesh. Washing with a solution of warm soapy water on the mesh is not a problem in general. If necessary, contact the manufacturer to see if they have any other recommendations
For Vinyl Upholstery Vinyl is typically very easily cleaned. A cloth will get the cleaning done. Soap and warm water used with soft brush works well for tougher stains. It is better to dry immediately. Some recommended using rubbing alcohol (isopropynol) for deeper stains. For some extreme situations that none of the above methods work, contact the manufacturer for instructions on how to remove deep stains from their vinyl.
For Chrome Chair Frame Clean with wet cheesecloth or cotton rag in liquid soap. Rub off any stains to restore the chrome to its original shine and immediately dry surface with a dry soft rag. You can try a metal polish if necessary. But it is recommanded to contact the manufacturer prior to using any stronger solution on the particular chair.
Here are some recommended preventative maintenance:
